FarmX – A Chance to Connect

Tasmanian Irrigation recently joined farmers, irrigators and industry representatives at FarmX 2026 to share updates on our major projects and the upcoming irrigation season.

The event gave our team an opportunity to connect with people from across Tasmania’s agricultural sector, answer questions and hear about the issues and opportunities that matter to them.

Visitors spoke with Sassafras Wesley Vale Irrigation Scheme Augmentation Project Manager John Wright about the project, which is currently under construction, including progress, environmental planning and the work involved in coordinating with contractors and landowners.

John shared key facts about the $124.2 million augmentation, which includes approximately 102 kilometres of pipeline, two pump stations and a balance tank. Once complete, it will add 9,200 megalitres of high-surety irrigation water to the existing scheme.

Our team also spoke with landholders about Farm Water Access Plans and how they support the sustainable use of irrigation water.
