Look Out Agfest- Tasmanian Irrigation is Back
Visitors to Agfest 2026 will have an opportunity to “look under the hood” at Tasmanian Irrigation’s projects, operational schemes and environmental programs.
Tasmanian Irrigation is excited to be returning to the Agfest field days – the first time in more than a decade.
Water is an essential ingredient for farming success, and highly reliable irrigation water provided by Tasmanian Irrigation is driving farm prosperity and delivering Statewide economic benefit.
Tasmanian Irrigation Chief Executive Officer Mike Sylvester said the decision to attend Agfest this year reflects the Company’s commitment to working closely with Tasmanian communities to plan and construct new irrigation projects, as well as deliver water from operational schemes.
“At the heart of successful irrigation projects in Tasmania is the collaboration between governments, Tasmanian Irrigation, landowners and community,” Mr Sylvester said.
“We highly value the input and commitment from farmers throughout the lifecycle of an irrigation scheme – from early concepts for a proposed new irrigation scheme through to planning, sale of water entitlements, approvals, construction and commissioning.
“Agfest is a great opportunity to celebrate the innovation, investment and opportunities ahead for our State’s growing agricultural industries, and to send a clear message that Tasmanian Irrigation is open for business.”
Tasmanian Irrigation congratulated the Agfest volunteers for their hard work and dedication to organise the State’s premier agricultural event.
Agfest Chair Jesse Macdonald said the Agfest Committee is delighted to welcome Tasmanian Irrigation back to the event.
“We are hoping to attract more than 55,000 people over the three days, enabling exhibitors to showcase their services and products to an engaged audience,” she said.
“Many people are not aware of the importance of reliable irrigation water to ensure our farmers can plan, plant and harvest crops and finish livestock, so having Tasmanian Irrigation as part of Agfest 2026 will provide a great educational and conversation opportunity.”
Agfest attendees will be able to learn about how many jobs are created for every megalitre of water delivered, how many millions of dollars are generated for the Tasmanian economy from irrigation, how Tasmanian Irrigation’s monitoring programs underpin our commitment to environmental excellence and much more.
Tasmanian Irrigation will be located in the TasFarmers marquee on Eighth Avenue across site numbers 809, 811 and 813 at Quercus Park near Carrick from 7 – 9 May.
